To promote the family unit, the immigration law allows for permanent residents of the United States (Green Card holder) request that certain elegible relatives come and live permanently in the country. A permanent resident can request for their spouse and single children of any age to immigrate to the United States.
EMPLOYMENT OR STUDIES BASED IMMIGRATION
H-1B: VISA FOR PROFESSIONALS WITH SPECIALTY OCCUPATIONS

L-1B: VISA FOR INTRACOMPANY TRANSFEREE SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

J-1: VISA FOR WORKERS IN WORK-AND STUDY-BASED EXCHANGE VISITOR PROGRAMS OR INTERNSHIPS
The United States opens its doors to thousands of international students and exchange visitors every year. The J visa is for cultural or education exchanges designated by the Oficina de Asuntos Consulares del Departamento de Estado. There are different activities that can be done within the framework for the J-1 visa program (all academic levels), professional interships in companies, institutions or certified agencies, learning or investigation stages and personal development periods. Additionally, exchange and summer internship programs for university students.
H-3: NONIMMIGRANT TRAINEE OR SPECIAL EDUCATION EXCHANGE VISITOR VISA
Foreigners who are elegible:
– Have been invited by an individual or organization with the purpose of receiving trainning related to their job that isn´t available in their country of origin.
– They come to participate in an exchange training program and expierience with education for kids with physical, mental or emotional disabilities
M-1 AND F-1: STUDENT VISAS
If you want to do your academic studies or full time vocational studies in the United States, you might qualify the requirements for one or two non-immigrant student categories.
The F visa applies for academic students, who wish to attend a university or other academic institution in the United States, including primary and secondary schools or languange trainning programs.
The M Visa applies for non academic or vocational students, who wish to study an vocational who would like to attend a vocational institute or otherrecognized non-academic institution.
BUSINESS IMMIGRATION
E-1: TREATY TRADER VISA
The foreigner from a country that has a commercial treaty with the United States and whose business – which has to exist- consists of an international exchange among both countries is elegible.
E-2: TREATY INVESTOR VISA
A foreigner from a country with which the United States has a commercial treaty and whose company – which has to exist- consist of an international exchange among both countries is elegible.
QUALIFIED EMPLOYEE VISA
The foreigner who will direct or expand the company is elegible. They must have the same nationality as the company owner, and qualify to hold a specialized position in the company in the United States.
EB-5: GREEN CARD (PERMANENT RESIDENT)
Those who make a minimum investment of USD 900.000 in a business in the United States are elegible to apply for a green card. They have to plan, create and mantain 10 permanent jobs for qualified american workers.
